Dominion Raceway Weekend Preview: Kids Take Over!

WOODFORD, Va. — The roar of engines will be matched by the cheers of young fans this Saturday, July 11, as Dominion Raceway hosts its highly anticipated "Kids Run What You Brung" night. Balancing a full card of NASCAR Local Racing Series action with family-focused entertainment, the track is handing over the front stretch to the next generation of racers.

The Local Racing Lineup
For traditional motorsports fans, the evening promises a heavy-hitting lineup of local competition. The Truckin Thunder America Racer Late Models will headline the main events. The undercard is equally stacked, featuring twin races for the Virginia Modifieds, alongside high-stakes battles in the Dominion Stocks, Legends, and Bandoleros divisions. The green flag for the main features is scheduled to drop at 7:00 p.m.

Kids Take the Track
Before the heavy machinery fires up, the spotlight shifts to the children. Starting at 6:00 p.m., kids will take over the track for the "Run What You Brung" showcase. Children are invited to bring their own set of wheels—including Power Wheels, Juice Box Racers, bicycles, and Big Wheels—to race down the front stretch. Track officials will organize the kids by age and vehicle type to ensure a safe, fair, and entertaining competition.

Live Ground Coverage
Motorsports reporting outlet Pits to Stands will be on the ground throughout the evening to capture the action. TJ will be reporting live from the track, covering the weekend's stories from inside the garages all the way up to the grandstands. Fans can look forward to his on-the-ground coverage of both the intense Late Model battles and the chaotic fun of the kids' races.

Ticket and Gate Information
Thanks to a partnership with Camping World, the track is making it a highly affordable night for families. Children 15 and under receive free admission when accompanied by a paid adult.

Gates open to the public at 5:00 p.m., though fans wanting to catch early practice laps can watch all day from the track's climate-controlled 118 Bar & Grill. General admission adult tickets are $18 if purchased online before midnight on Friday, or $20 at the gate.

Families planning to enter their children in the racing showcase are advised to arrive early to secure parking, claim general admission seating, and get their young drivers prepped for the front stretch.
