Kids Run What You Brung Night @ Dominion Raceway 7/11/2026

THORNBURG, VA -

Wow! What a fantastic night of racing it was at Dominion Raceway! With two Late Model Features, two UCAR Races, a legends race, a bandolero feature, and a modified race, it was fun for everyone - but what may have been the star of the show for the youngest fans was the Kids Run What You Brung Event!

Kids brought out their bikes, karts, power wheels, ATV’s, and more and raced them down the front stretch for memories that will last a lifetime! There was even a class of Power Wheels that the Raceway clocked in at over 25 miles per hour!

After the fun of the bike and power wheel races, it was game time for the UCARS first race! After leading the beginning of the race, Michael Frayser drew out the yellow flag when he had tire issues. This gave James Garrett the chance to lead and take the checkered flag. Next up was the Virginia Modifieds who had four cars in the field. It was a quick race, with Eric Fowlkes pulling into victory lane. In the next race, the Bandolero feature, Tuggie Case gave track points leader Brayden Farren a run for his money, but in the end, Farren would take his #37 bandolero to victory lane for the first time.

The American Racers Late Model division was full of fast cars, including John Goin, who made his return to Dominion Raceway after an over 4 year hiatus The #07 of Richard Storm started off the race strong, leading for the beginning, but as tires wore and time went on, other drivers started making their way to the front. When the checkered flag waved, it was a 1-2 finish for father-son duo Aaron and Chris Donnelly, with Aaron taking the checkered flag. A majority of the field was only running about 1-2 tenths of a second between eachother on lap times.

Dominion Stocks gave us a special treat, with the #70x of Landon Abbott leading for a majority of the race until the #57 of Richard Powers III broke through along with the #88 of Mike Lowe. This lead wouldn’t last long, and Lowe would take the lead and eventually drive straight to victory lane, with Powers just 0.313 seconds behind him.

The Legends race was another great one, with 12 entries. The #2W of Peyton Worm came in first, with the #04 of James Monolo just behind him.

The second UCAR feature gave track favorite Michael Frayser the opportunity to try again, and he was able to take his #1 car to victory lane.

Finally, the second American Racers Late Model race ended the night with the #31 of Aaron Donnelly beating out Goin by a nearly 5 second difference to go to victory lane for the second time that night.

Overall, it was a fantastic night of racing!

From the Pits to the Stands would like to thank Dominion Raceway and its staff for their hospitality. We look forward to returning to continue covering grassroots racing and the competitors who make the sport so special.
